Today in SCIENCE we:

• Did Current Events, it is UP TO YOU TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY!
• Handed in vocabulary #7, got vocabulary #8 - Due Wednesday.
• Reviewed pictures from our field trip!
• Wrote a journal entry, two paragraphs 1) what did you do and learn on your field trip? 2) what ACTION could you take to help protect and preserve that parkland?
• Do sia7 pg 15, c&r #-4 - Due Wednesday. Make sure your assignment has a PROPER TITLE (page numbers, what it is), write out the questions, answer the questions in complete sentences.

• Did current events! Your presentations were well done! Is it your turn on Monday?
• Check the current events schedule!
• Handed in vocabulary #6.
• Got vocabulary #7 - Due Monday.
• Did a give it a try activity - how many biotic & abiotic things did you come up with?
• What is the difference between biotic & abiotic?
• Talked about TSQ4R - what is it? How do you do it?
• To take notes on sia7 p 8-15 use the TSQ4R method. omit p 14. What does the word omit mean?
• Do your notes have a title? Are your name, date & class on your page?
• Don't forget to check out the "key concepts" and "learning outcomes" sections of your textbooks.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Handed in our title pages.
• Handed in our field trip forms. YOU NEED TO GET THESE IN TO ME.
• Had a current events demonstration - we will start daily presentations on TUESDAY. Is it your turn? Be prepared.
• Worked on Vocabulary #6 - Due TUESDAY.
• Did a slide show presentation on Plastic bags and wrote a journal entry about it. Your journal entry should be in your duotang.
• Had a fire drill, you guys did GREAT exiting the school in single file and lining up outside. For next time lets remember to line up FARTHER AWAY from the school and in ALPHABETICAL order.
• How did you use your class time today?
• I will stop checking your agenda soon - you are doing a great job of using them, keep it up! Agenda use is one of the best habits you will develop!
• BRING IN YOUR FIELD TRIP FORMS!

• Handed in our Lab Safety Contracts (blue form)
• Got our next set of vocabulary words: Due Thursday.
• Your Interactions in Ecosystems title page is due on THURSDAY.
• Went outside and made some OBSERVATIONS. How are observations different from INFERENCES?
• Wrote a journal entry about what we saw in our school yard.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Watched a video about Terry Fox.
• Got our next set of vocabulary words: Due Tuesday.
• Talked about our Field trip & got our permission forms. Your forms are due back by September 20.
• Our field trip is to Kananaskis on September 25, if your parents would like to volunteer to come along, please contact the school. We need volunteers to make our field trips happen!
• Your plan for your Interactions in Ecosystems title page should be done. We will work with it on Tuesday.

Today in SCIENCE we:

• Watched a lab safety video.
• Wrote our lab safety quiz.
• Got & went over our Laboratory Safety Contracts. Due back signed on FRIDAY.
• Put our vocabulary #2 in our duotangs.
• Got vocabulary #3 - Due Friday.
• Got a copy of our title page rubrics & talked about our next title page.
• A PLAN for our Interactions & Ecosystems Title page is due on FRIDAY.
• Got back our title pages, scavenger hunts, & following directions sheets, added them to our binders & wrote the information in our science table of contents. Our binders should be ship-shape.
• Talked about our up coming field trip. We need parent volunteers!! Please call the school if you are interested in helping us out! THANK YOU!

Don't forget to ask your parents if they would like to volunteer to come on a field trip with us in a couple of weeks!

• Got 5 vocabulary words - Due Wednesday.
