  • Planned our WINTER CELEBRATION for FRIDAY. Please remember NO electronics. You may bring board games & food. I will play a movie.
  • For our celebration to occur, current events MUST be done and EVERY person MUST hand in sia7 c&r p306 #1 & 2. We talked about these questions in class. This should take you 10 minutes or so to answer. READ sia7 p300-306 (omit p304-305) for help.

Today in SCIENCE we:
  • Did Current Events.....good work people! Is your turn on WEDNESDAY? BE READY.
  • Started our Stress our Marshmellow Lab. If you were away, you will need to get caught up!
  • Got a new vocabulary today - #20.
  • Bring your marshmellow handout to class on WEDNESDAY.
  • Did an EGG Experiement. What was our hypothesis? Based on what previous knowledge? What were our results? Did our results support our hypothesis?
  • Watched Planet Earth Caves. If you had to sell a structure, how would you do that? What kinds of features would you look for? How could you MARKET them, or make them appealing for a potential buyer? Make a list, then come up with a strategy.
  • Do a rough draft of a COMIC STRIP that could help you sell these structures.
  • Structural shapes, components, stress, failure & fatigue. What do they mean?
  • How do we build a structure for stability?
  • What are some PROPERTIES of building materials? What is a property?
  • 7B, it is cold out there, please remember to dress WARMLY!!

  • We identified structures in our classroom and classified them as; shell, frame or solid. Can you have a structure that falls into more than one of these categories?

  • Handed in our field trip forms. YOU NEED TO GET THESE IN TO ME.
  • Had a current events demonstration - we will start daily presentations on TUESDAY. Is it your turn? Be prepared.

  • Did a slide show presentation on Plastic bags and wrote a journal entry about it. Your journal entry should be in your duotang.
  • Had a fire drill, you guys did GREAT exiting the school in single file and lining up outside. For next time lets remember to line up FARTHER AWAY from the school and in ALPHABETICAL order.
